Hi! I'm Olesya Shchukina (she/her). I'm an animation filmmaker and illustrator. I draw for children's magazines and picture books, apps and lifestyle media. Children's illustration is my strong point, as my style is bright, vivid and full of humor. I make stories adventurous and fun through my drawings, setting the right tone for each context.
I love doing projects that unite illustration and animation: animated stickers for messengers, gif illustrations, interactive projects and edutainment videos that explain serious things in a simple and fun way.

I've drawn illustrations for French and Canadian children's magazines, educational apps for kids, big tech companies like Google and Facebook, lifestyle media, bookshops and even a French chocolate manufacturer!

Other projects
I've illustrated two picture books. Baka-bakyldyk was published by Yulbasma, a Tatar publishing house. Le Poil de Baribal came out in Planete Rebelle, a Canadian publishing house based in Montreal.
I've also worked with Russian and French animation studios. The Elephant and The Bicycle (2014, produced by Folimage) and The Sled (2016, produced by Soyuzmultfilm) were given awards at numerous international animation festivals and were released on DVD. I've worked as a concept artist for the French TV series project Tempo and as an illustrator and a set painter for the film Ma Vie de Courgette (directed by Claude Barras).
More about me
I grew up in Russia and moved to France at 24. I've also spent time in New York and Tokyo. Now you can find me walking around the streets of Paris with my little dogs Mango and Roti, or thumbing through picture books in independent bookstores.
I like printmaking, learning languages and reading books.
I teach illustration at LISAA Paris.
